The oldest car in the world is the Benz Patent-Motorwagen, which was created by German inventor Karl Benz in 1885. It is widely considered to be the first practical automobile, as it was the first vehicle powered by an internal combustion engine.
The Benz Patent-Motorwagen had a single-cylinder engine and could travel at a top speed of 10 miles per hour. It had a three-wheeled design, with two wheels at the back and one at the front, and was steered using a tiller rather than a wheel.
The car was only produced in limited numbers, with 25 units made between 1886 and 1893. Today, only a handful of these vehicles still exist, with several housed in museums around the world.
Despite its age, the Benz Patent-Motorwagen remains an innovative and groundbreaking vehicle that paved the way for the development of modern automobiles.
